The Nargis Dutt Foundation (NDF) believes in РNo lives should be lost due to unaffordability of medical treatment and no child should be deprived of good education due to lack of fundsРЈ. Seven sections in the United States and Canada has provided over $5 million in equipment to over 100 rural hospitals in India. Cancer treatment and diagnostic equipment, as well as mobile hospital vans, are also included. The Foundation has helped fund the first bone marrow transplant and the Tata Memorial Hospital's ICU Centre, both of which took place in 1983. The Nargis Dutt ICU at the Tata Memorial was dedicated by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The Nargis Dutt Foundation was also present in India whenever there was a national disaster.
