The Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi organization was founded in 1997 to provide financial aid patients living in poverty who are suffering from significant life-threatening diseases receive medical treatment at any of the government's super specialty hospitals or institutes. With the agreement of the relevant authority, a new umbrella system of Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi has been established to issue financial aid to underprivileged patients. The Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (ran) umbrella scheme will consist of three parts: The Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (ran), the health minister's cancer patients fund and a scheme for financial help for patients suffering from specific rare diseases. Eligibility - RAN Financial Aid Only for people living in poverty who have a specific, life-threatening sickness. Assistance is only available for treatment at a government hospital. Employees of the federal, state and local governments are not eligible. Reimbursement of previously incurred medical expenses is not permitted. However, in exceptional circumstances, reimbursement may be granted on a case-by-case basis with the approval of the Management Committee, provided that the eligible patient has already applied for financial assistance prior to receiving medical treatment/operation in an emergency situation and has paid the hospital/dues. institute's Diseases of a common character and diseases for which free treatment is accessible under other health programs/schemes are not eligible for grant funding. Patients receiving treatment in their own state must seek assistance from the State Illness Fund (if one has been established) if the medical estimate does not exceed Rs.1.50 lakh.
