The Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund was entrenched to provide financial help to underprivileged cancer patients. A corpus fund of Rs.100 crore has been established and is currently in fixed deposit. The interest earned on a loan is used to provide financial help. Patients with cancer who are deprived are provided medications regularly. In 27 RCCs, revolving funds have been established, with funds of up to 50 lakhs provided at their disposal to provide treatment of up to Rs. 2 lakh in each case. Cases involving treatment costing more than 2 lakh rupees are referred to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India for funding.
