The signs and symptoms help in the diagnosis of any particular disease. The symptoms entirely depend upon the location of the tumor. The common symptoms of bile duct cancer include abnormalities in liver functioning, jaundice, abdominal pain, itching, weight loss, fever, colour changes in faeces or urine. The patients with cholangiocarcinoma undergo blood tests of liver function that display an obstructive image showing high bilirubin content, alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyl transferase levels, and relatively normal transaminase levels.
The following are the most common physical Symptoms of Bile uct Cancer [1]:
The Symptoms of Bile Ducts Cancer vary depending on where the tumour is located: patients with cholangiocarcinoma in the extrahepatic bile ducts (outside the liver) are more prone to experience jaundice. Those with bile duct tumours in the liver, on the other hand, frequently experience discomfort without jaundice.
In persons with cholangiocarcinoma, blood tests of liver function frequently display an "obstructive image," with high bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, and gamma-glutamyl transferase levels and relatively normal transaminase levels. The fundamental cause of jaundice, rather than inflammation or infection of the liver parenchyma, appears to be obstruction of the bile ducts.
