• Dr. Raghunath S. K is an Uro-Oncologist who has completed his MBBS & Post graduate (MS, General Surgery) from a reputed medical college in Mysore along with a DNB from a well-known Urological hospital in Gujarat. He went on to complete a fellowship in Uro-Oncology from a well-known institute in Delhi. Dr. Raghunath completed his fellowship in Laparoscopic and Robotic Urology at Taipei City Hospital and Mackey Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. He has a fellowship in Molecular Oncology for Prostate Cancer at Centre for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) & Walter Reed Army University at Maryland, Washington DC. He is also a visiting professor at department of Uro-oncology at Minnesota University, Minneapolis. His areas of interest include robotic surgery and medical equipment innovations and designing. Dr. Raghunath has conducted over 3000 uro-oncological surgeries. Some of them include open and robotic radical prostatectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy for prostate cancer, open, laparoscopic and robotic partial nephrectomy / nephron sparing surgery kidney cancers (renal cancers) and nephroureterectomy for urothelial carcinoma of kidney and ureter, open and robotic radical cystectomy and ileal conduit/neobladder (to enable the patient to pass urine naturally after removal on urinary bladder) for bladder cancers and open and robotic adrenalectomy for benign tumours and Cancers of adrenal gland. He has also performed open and robotic retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy for testicular cancers, laparoscopic and robotic video endoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomy for penile cancers. He also has experience in treating metastatic prostate cancer with Hormone therapy and Immunotherapy and metastatic kidney cancer with Targeted therapy and Immunotherapy. Dr Raghunath is the first uro-oncologist to establish a dedicated uro-oncology department in South India at HCG. He is the 1st uro-oncologist in south India to perform robotic radical cystectomy and total intracorporeal ileal neobladder surgery for bladder cancer and robotic perineal radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. He has served as the secretary (2013) and president (2018) of Bangalore Urological Society. He is currently serving as the secretary for Society of Genitourinary Oncologists (SOGO) of India. Dr Raghunath has served as a principal investigator for more than 20 clinical trials conducted on prostate and renal cancers. He has authored and co-authored over 20 publications for national and international journals. He has also authored several book chapters for several uro-oncology books. Dr Raghunath has served as a faculty for more than 135 national and international conferences. He has also organised more than 20 conferences and live workshops.
