He obtained his DM (Medical Oncology) training from the prestigious Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore. He did an observership at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA in the Division of Hematology as a visiting clinician and is a European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) certified Medical Oncologist. He is a Fellow of the American Cancer Society University (ACSU) and the Union International for Cancer Control (UICC).
He has worked as a faculty member in various medical institutions like Medical College Trivandrum and Medical College Calicut before joining Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology Bangalore in 2008. He is currently Professor of Medical Oncology at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology Bangalore, and a teacher and guide for the DM Medical Oncology program and a PhD guide under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. He has been part of many multinational clinical research projects in oncology as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. He has to his credit several publications in peer reviewed journals – national and international and has presented several scientific papers and given guest lectures in national & international conferences.
