About Dr Daxesh Patel:

Dr Daxesh Patel is part of the Head & Neck Oncology team at HCG Cancer Center, Ahmedabad. After completing MBBS and MS (ENT) from a Medical College in Baroda, he pursued MCh in Head & Neck Cancer Surgery at a famous Institute in Kochi. Thereafter, to gain further experience in the field of Head & Neck Oncology, he went to one of the topmost cancer centers of the world- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA, for 2 years, where, apart from clinical academic activities, he was actively involved in research related to tobacco induced oral cavity cancer and different modalities to prevent it. Dr Daxesh has special interest in treating cancers involving base of skull, tobacco induced oral cavity and laryngeal cancers, minimally invasive laryngeal surgery through LASER etc. He is also keen on rehabilitating patients after cancer ablative surgery, through plastic & reconstructive surgery, and speech and swallowing therapy and voice restoration after laryngectomy. He has published many clinical and basic science research papers in international peer reviewed journals and has won many awards, including a gold medal at a national level forum on Head & Neck cancer. He has been invited as speaker and as panelist at various conferences and is a key member in the web management committee of the Foundation for Head & Neck Oncology, India.
