He is the recipient of the prestigious Varoon Mahajan Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York in 2007 where he worked on treatment of Esophageal and Lung Cancers. He has also been awarded a fellowship by the Department of Esophageal Diseases at Kurume University Hospital, Japan where he worked with some of the leading esophageal surgeons in the world, including Prof H Fujita.
