Vinod Venkataraman was a caregiver to his father, who was diagnosed with Mesothelioma after they took him to the hospital regarding his breathing issues. He had Pleural Effusion, and later the biopsy reports showed it was cancer. At first, they were told that sixteen sessions of chemotherapy would do and after, they got to know that it was a terminal disease. And that he will have to do chemo lifelong. And in December 2021, cancer spread to the abdomen, and in January 2022, he passed away. Vinod Venkataraman says, “As a caregiver, I learned that we need to keep our emotions secondary and should approach cancer from a logical perspective. One must be extremely strong and not let emotions overtake your decision-making. “
