Sign and Symptoms of Nasopharyngeal Cancer

People with NPC may experience the following signs or symptoms. Sometimes, people with NPC don’t have any of these changes. Or, the cause of a symptom can be another medical condition that is not cancer.

  • A lump in the neck, which is the most common symptom
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Pain and ringing in the ear
  • Nasal obstruction or stuffiness
  • A sore throat that doesn’t seem to go away
  • Trouble hearing or hearing loss
  • Difficulty opening the mouth.
  • A sense of pain or fullness in the ear is caused by a buildup of fluid in the middle ear, especially if it doesn’t go away and occurs in just one ear
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Trouble breathing or speaking
  • Pain, numbness, or paralysis in the face
  • Frequent nosebleeds
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent headaches
